Welcome to the Core Character phase of the mentorship at Zombie Art School! This is where we lay the foundation for your journey into character creation, with a focus on mastering the essentials of creating high-quality clothing for 3D characters.

Throughout this series, we’ll engage in focused exercises designed to strengthen your understanding of cloth sculpting and garment creation using Marvelous Designer. You’ll also dive deep into the game art pipeline, exploring how these techniques are used in professional game development.

We’ll wrap up the series with lessons on creating detailed textures in Substance Painter and a quick integration of your assets into Unreal Engine. By the end of this phase, you’ll have a solid grasp of the fundamentals necessary to build top-tier character outfits and navigate the game art pipeline with confidence.

To make the most of this phase, it’s essential to commit at least 30 hours per week to focused exercises and submit your assignments regularly for mentor feedback. Remember, excellence comes from understanding the fundamentals, embracing focused studies, and maintaining a mindset that allows you to learn and grow from every mistake.
